Arlyn Gail Scheuerman, 86, passed away July 23, 2025, at Medicalodges of Great Bend, Great Bend, Kan. He was born Aug. 7, 1938, in Rush County, Kan., to Conrad and Rosa (Matal) Scheuerman. Arlyn married Carol Lynn Dangerfield Nov. 10, 1978, in Broken Arrow, Okla. Carol passed away Dec. 21, 2021.

Arlyn, a long-time resident of Great Bend, graduated from Alexander High School and attended Fort Hays State University. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, earning the rank of Medical Corpsman. Upon his Navy discharge, Arlyn went to work for Briggs-Weaver of Dallas and Little Rock, New York Twist Drill of Staten Island, N.Y., then Universal Lubricants, Dodge City, Kan., retiring as branch manager. In retirement, he earned a Master Gardener certification from Kansas State University and served as a volunteer for the Barton County Extension Office. He also served as a bus driver for the Great Bend Senior Center, Department of Aging and was a member of the First Christian Church, Great Bend.

Surviving is a daughter, Diana Scheuerman of Great Bend and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 22 siblings, Chester Scheuerman, Louise Scheuerman, Wilmer Scheuerman, Lloyd Scheuerman, Lindy Scheuerman, Gilbert Scheuerman, Freda Clark, Mary Ann Prose, Esther Scheuerman, Louella Scheuerman, Conrad Scheuerman, Benjamin Scheuerman, Marvin Scheuerman, Donald Scheuerman, Velma Morgan, Martin Scheuerman, Wilbert Schuerman, Harry Scheuerman, Glenn Scheuerman, Merle Scheuerman, Elvina Brazda and Clarinetta Scheuerman.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, at First Christian Church, Great Bend, with the Reverend Joshua Leu and Pastor Wade Russell presiding. Inurnment will be 1:30 p.m. at the Baptist Cemetery, Bison, Kan. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorial may be given to First Christian Church, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS  67530. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
