David Ray Andrulis, 67, passed away April 29, 2025, at The University of Kansas Health Systems – ER, Great Bend, Kan. He was born on Sept. 29, 1957, in Alpena, Mich., to Walter and Virginia (Sanger) Andrulis. On May 15, 1982, he married Cynthia “Cindy” Pfannenstiel at Oakdale Park in Salina, Kan.
A lifetime area resident, David was a carpenter and worked in all areas of home remodeling. He was a member of the Messianic Christian faith. David enjoyed gardening, making hot sauce and bread, fishing and camping. Above all, he cherished time spent with family, serving as a father figure to multiple nieces, nephews, and friends.
Survivors include his wife of the home son, Leif (Marsha) Andrulis of Great Bend; two daughters, Cynthia (Jonathan) Emig of Great Bend, and Michelle (Steven) Disque of Santa Fe, Texas; six grandchildren, Joshua Emig, Dustin Emig, Destiney Andrulis, Kile Farrar, Joshua Disque, Serenity Disque; two great grandchildren, Elaina Delgadillo and Elyza Rodriguez; brother, Paul (Melissa) Andrulis of Claflin; two sisters, Sandy Mendenhall of Oklahoma, and Karen Andrulis of Great Bend; close nephew, Walter (Tammy) Andrulis and children of Great Bend; and numerous other family and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Adam Andrulis; brother, Michael Andrulis; and sister, Patricia Andrulis.
Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025, with family receiving guests from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held later. Memorials have been designated to the David Andrulis Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
