Delora Jean Nuss, 100, passed away July 24, 2025, at Country Living of Larned. She was born April 13, 1925, in Stafford County, Kan., to Vernon and Lola (Givens) McCullough. She married Gerhardt LaVern Nuss Sept. 18, 1942, in Hoisington, Kan. He passed away Aug. 1, 2010.
Delora, a long-time resident of Great Bend, attended CrossPoint Church faithfully and was an avid reader, enjoyed embroidery, flower gardening and cooking. She expressed her relationship and love to Jesus through her musical talent, playing the organ for many years at Central Baptist Church and First Bible Baptist Church.
Surviving is one son, Greg Nuss of Great Bend and his girlfriend Cindy Davis of Alma, Neb.; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Nuss of Russell; seven grandchildren, Tyler Nuss, Jason Adams, Nelson Adams, Matt Nuss, Sara Thomas, Stephanie Simmons and Shane Simmons; and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, Terry Nuss; daughter, Sandra Simmons; sister, Luella Stoner; brother-in-law, Harold Stoner; and son-in-law, Gary Simmons.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services are planned for 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Murphy presiding. Inurnment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend. Memorials may be given to Cross Point Church, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
