ELLSWORTH — Donald L. Cool, 78, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025 at his home in Ellsworth, Kan. He was born June 12, 1946 in Webster Springs, W.V. to Ottawa and Ruth (Taggart) Cool. Donald married Lillian Hershey in Alma, Okla. on March 8, 1971. He served in the United States Army accomplishing three tours in Vietnam. He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction field and a bail bondsman and bounty hunter.

Donald is survived by his wife Lillian Cool of Ellsworth; daughter Chrystal Cool Bishop of Ellsworth; grandchildren, April, Cameron, Tyler, Alexandria, and Makayla and their families which includes six great grandchildren; and sisters, Sandra Henline of Cowen, W.V., Ruth Morris of Arnoldsburg, W.V., and Pam Dalzell of Gassaway, W.V. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Melissa Cool Leiker; sisters, Della Gray and Kathy Cowger; brother Walter Cool; and son-in-law Mark Bishop.

Cremation was chosen and no services are planned at this time with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
