Gary LeRoy Morrison, 71, passed away Aug. 24, 2025, at The University of Kansas Health System in Great Bend, Kan. He was born Aug. 6, 1954, in Great Bend to George and Faye (Miller) Morrison, Sr.

Gary’s playful heart found joy being around kids but, especially his grandkids. He loved casting a line and going fishing. He enjoyed participating in karaoke, surrounded by friends. There was not a Chuck Norris movie Gary had not seen. 

Gary is survived by his sons, Jonathan Morrison of Muskogee, Okla., Ryan Morrison and his significant other Jaqui Smith of Ellinwood, Daniel Morrison of the home; daughter, Susie Morrison of the home; brothers, Dennis Morrison, Sr. and his wife Josie of Sand Springs, Okla., George Morrison, Jr. of Great Bend; grandchildren, Hayley Morrison, Makenzie Morrison, and Wyatt Morrison. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joyce Marie, Virginia Lou, Cora Sue; brother, Craig Allan.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at Backyard Church, 2519 11th St., Great Bend, with Jody Messersmith officiating.
