HOISINGTON — Harold Lee Harrison, age 93, of Hoisington, Kan., passed away on July 28, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minn., with his devoted wife Anne Harrison by his side.
Harold was born June 5, 1932 in Hoisington, Kan., the son of Frank William and Winnie Faye (Shetler) Harrison. Harold graduated from Hoisington High School. He later attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan., and Miami Bible College in Miami, Fla. Harold proudly served in the US Navy, deploying in the boiler room of the USS Gallup, PF-47 during the Korean War. Later, he joined the US Army National Guard and served as a Psych Tech in the Vietnam War.
Harold married Anne (Hawkins) Harrison on Dec. 23, 1972, in North Miami, Fla. Harold is survived by his wife Anne of 52 years; three children, Jeffray Harrison (TyAnn), Timothy Harrison (Jennifer) and H. Janette (Harrison) Takata (Steve); 14 grandchildren Miles, Nina, Gift, Precious, Aiden, Sadie, Haddie, Joseph, Gabriella, Aaron, LaRue, Elias, Liam, and Selah; and two great-grandchildren Janelle and Karter, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Harold was a member of Hoisington Bible Church and the Hoisington American Legion, Post #286. Harold participated in several Labor Day parades in Hoisington, proudly wearing one of his military uniforms each time.
Preceding Harold in death are his parents Frank and Winnie Harrison; his sisters Vivian (Harrison) Ward, Lucille (Harrison) Mann, Mary Ellen (Harrison) Mullis and Karolyn (Harrison) Sperry; and his brothers Dr. William (Bill) Harrison and Jerold Harrison.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Pastor Roland Broeder officiating. Interment will be in the Hoisington Cemetery with Military Honors.
