TOPEKA — Janice E. Cormier, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025. She was born Aug. 19, 1941 in Ellinwood, Kan., the daughter of Edwin L. and Dorothy F. (Heater) Corbett.
Janice graduated from Ellinwood High School. She and her husband, Clifford owned and operated Cormier Liquor Store for 37 years where she loved interacting with their customers. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Janice married Clifford N. Cormier, Sr. on Feb. 21, 1960 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her four siblings, Edwin L. Corbett, Shirley A. Dewerff, Phyllis J. Cook and Robert L. Corbett.
Survivors include two children, Kimberle Cormier-Hedstrom and Clifford Cormier Jr., both of Topeka; five grandchildren, Sterling Hedstrom, Clifford Cormier III, Steele (Kasie) Burgen, Kaleb Cormier, Trinity Cormier; four great-grandchildren, Harlo Burgen, Christian Cormier, Stone Hedstrom and Atlas Burgen.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2025 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in Prairie Home Cemetery.
