STAFFORD — Jeanette Marks, 84, passed away April 16, 2025, at Credo Senior Living in Hoisington, Kan. On June 8, 1963, she married Carl Marks at Stafford, Kan. He proceeded her in death on May 22, 2014. Together they had one daughter, Lori Waters (Brent), she survives.
Jeanette graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She was the bookkeeper for Sylvia Cooperative Association, administrative assistant to the Reno County Commission and co-owner/partner of C & J Pumping, Inc.
Being a loyal and active member of the Zenith Presbyterian Church, she faithfully played the organ/piano for weekly services for over 50 years. Jeanette enjoyed hosting dinners and entertaining at their home for family and friends along with being an avid reader. She and Carl spent many years vacationing at Grand Teton National Park and Estes Park, Colo.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 25 at Sylvia Cemetery with a meal following at Zenith Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Zenith Presbyterian Church in care of Minnis Chapel, 125 N. Main, Stafford, KS, 67578.
