HOISINGTON — John Felix Rubio, age 69, formally of Hoisington, Kan., passed away in East China, Mich. on April 10, 2025. He was born July 15, 1955, to the late Catarino and Mary Rubio.
John enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, listening to music, playing cards, dice, and horseshoes. He also adored his many pets. John especially loved spending time with his family and being the founder of his “Johnny’s Flannel Shirt Club.”
John is survived by his daughter, Brooke (Ralph) Heath; granddaughters, Jayden and Aylivia Heath; his separated spouse, Bonnie; her children, Thomas Cokely (Roxy Richardson), Tawnya (Jeremy) Grick, Lindsay (Mike) Strohl; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; siblings, Martin (Linda) Rubio, Josephine Merchant, Irene Gallentine, Ramona (Leonard) Hoch, Kathy (Bill) Noblitt, Juanita (John) Heinrich; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Willie Rubio, Frances Hoch, Bernice Baker; and long-time companion, Brooke’s mom, Kim Pelster.
A graveside inurnment service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025, at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Hoisington, Kan.
