Joyce Marie Windham a homemaker and long term resident of both Great Bend, Kan., and Sand Springs, Okla., passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 4, 2022 at the age of 73 of natural causes at her home in Sand Springs, Okla.

Joyce is survived by her daughter and son in law Stormy D. and Joe Rogers of Lacrosse, Kan.; brothers and sisters in law, Dennis and Josie Morrison of Sand Springs, Okla., George Morrison Jr. and Gary Morrison both of Great Bend, Kan., Rebecca Morrison of Hutchinson, Kan.; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George Arthur Windham; son Robert Earl Morrison; parents George and Faye Morrison; sisters Mary Jane Ferguson, Virginia Rowan and Cora Sue Morrison; brother Craig Morrison; grandson Royal Rogers.

Joyce was born in Natoma, Kan. on March 12, 1948 to George and Faye Morrison. She grew up enjoying her younger years in Great Bend, Kan. She married George on Feb. 21, 1975. They moved to Sanford, N.C., and later settled in Sand Springs, Okla. where they spent the remainder of their life.

Joyce loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed sharing stories about her dogs, recipes and her life adventures. She was a lover of animals and rescued many throughout her life. They were her world and always came first. She loved the outdoors and the beauty of nature. She enjoyed watching her bird feeders that never ran dry, most favorite being the cardinal which she would say was her family in heaven coming to visit her. Her favorite color was purple, glittery things that sparkled like her heart of gold and her favorite music was country western especially Alan Jackson.

There were will be no visitation as cremation has already been performed by Mark Griffith Funeral Home. Her ashes will be sent to Fort Gibson Veterans Cemetery to be placed to rest with her husband George. There will a Celebration of Life that will take place at a later date. Family and friends will be notified. In lieu of flowers or cards you may donate to your local animal shelter in her name.
