WICHITA — LaDonna Lytle went to be with the Lord on Oct. 9, 2026, at the age of 90. She was born on the family farm at Codell, Kan., on Oct. 1, 1936, to Michael and Eva (Cline) Loreg.

On Sept. 21, 1958, she and Eugene ‘Gene’ Lytle were married in Stockton, Kan.

LaDonna was a hair stylist. She had two salons in Great Bend. She and Gene opened the beauty school, LaDonna’s Academy of Beauty, in Hays in 1977. LaDonna also managed the J.C. Penney’s Beauty Salon. She worked in several Great Bend and Hays salons throughout her career.

Survivors include one son, David Lytle and wife Karen of Wichita; three brothers, Mike Loreg of Hoisington, Dean Loreg and wife Janice of Topeka, and Darrell Loreg and wife Janice of Tightwad, Mo.; four grandchildren, Andrew Peterson of Great Bend, Amanda Humburg of Wichita, David Lytle, Jr. of Wichita, and Rusty Purcell of Enid, Okla.; nine great-grandchildren, Hailey, Gage, Ethan, Adleigh, Ashlee, Thomas, Jonny, Arlin, and Gavin; one great-great-grandchild and another on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Cheryl Peterson; parents; three brothers; and six sisters.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Dinah Mombo-Manyara presiding. Inurnment will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, at Stockton Cemetery, with Reverend Ted Stapleton presiding. Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, from noon to 8 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been designated to Senior Companion Program or Heartland Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
