MONTROSE, Colo. — Randall L. Mettscher, 67, of Montrose, Colorado passed away April 22, 2019 with his wife by his side. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, daughter, Randi and stepdaughters, Rebecca and Rachel. Also by his parents, Ivan and Martha Mettscher and sister Vicky Dayton of Great Bend, Kansas.

Randall was born August 27, 1951 in Larned, Kansas. He was raised in Great Bend and graduated from Great Bend High School in 1969 and from Barton Junior College in 1971.

In the ’80s Randall was a Police Officer in Central City, Colorado, and U.S. Deputy Marshall in Dodge City, Kansas.

In the ’90s he settled in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where he owned and operated his jewelry store and gift shop, Mountain Dreams, for 10 years. During this time, he met and married his wife, Lisa and had his only daughter, Randi.

Randall enjoyed skiing, hunting, collecting guns, knives and Native American art. He was an animal lover – particularly wolves and exotic birds. In 2001 one of his greatest passions was born when he got a Harley-Davidson for his 50th birthday. He established the Iron Horse Chapter of Harley Riders in Durango, Colorado, in 2003 and served as Director. He and his wife, Lisa rode nearly 100k miles over the next 16 years.

In 2010 the family relocated to Montrose, Colorado, where Randall retired.
