Raymond John ‘Ray’ Kober

Raymond John ‘Ray’ Kober, 83, passed away Feb. 13, 2026, surrounded by his family at his home in Great Bend, Kan. He was born on Nov. 16, 1942, in La Crosse, Kan., to Frank and Viola (Krestin) Kober. On Jan. 6, 1979, he married Kathy Marsh in Great Bend.

A long-time resident of Great Bend, Ray worked as a manager for Pizza Hut for 20 years, as well as at Becker Tire. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima. Ray was a hard worker and when he wasn’t at work, he enjoyed working in his garden and on cars. He took great care of his family.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Ryan of Berthoud, Colo., Jason of Great Bend, and Randy (Julie) of Wichita; daughter, Sandra Davis (Kelly) of Great Bend; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two sisters, Grace of Mt. Gilead, N.C., and Lillian of St. George, Utah. He is preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and Ray, Jr.; his parents; and three brothers, Irvin, Alvin, and twin, Donald.

Cremations have taken place. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Chaplain Jeff Johnson presiding. Memorials have been designated to Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
