SPRING, Texas — Sandra Diane Schmidt-Toney, 65, died Feb. 1, 2026, in Houston, Texas, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born March 6, 1960, in Great Bend, Kan., the daughter of Leonard and Rosemary (Cook) Schmidt. Sandra graduated from Hennessey High School and later earned her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University.

Sandra worked as an office administrator for the Water District Management in Spring, Texas. She loved scuba diving, skiing, boating, fishing, gardening, crafting, traveling, and sharing her faith as a Lutheran Christian through more than 25 years of Sunday school teaching. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched all who knew her, and she was known for her warm, welcoming spirit.

She is survived by two sons, Lantz Toney of Spring, Texas, and Colton Toney of Dallas, Texas; her father, Leonard Schmidt of Hoisington; her brother, Steve Schmidt and wife Karen of Flower Mound, Texas; and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosemary Schmidt.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with family to greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Wolf presiding. Burial will follow in Hoisington Cemetery.
