LARNED — Vera L. Kasselman, 78, of Larned, Kan. passed away on March 12, 2026.
Vera was born on Nov. 24, 2961 in McCook, Neb. to Samuel and Dorothy Leibrandt. She attended school in Marion and Lebanon, Neb. and college at McCook Junior College. She taught elementary school in rural Red Willow County and was a longtime resident of Larned, Kan.
She was a dedicated CNA and CMA, mostly at Diversicare of Larned. It was her passion helping people. She loved mowing and gardening.
On July 25, 1992 she married Elmer Kasselman.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister Vernice at birth; and husband, Elmer Kasselman. Survivors include sons Mike Stacey (Tina) of Great Bend, Kan., Tom Stacey (Breann) of Larned, Kan.; daughter Staci Renfro (David) of Omaha, Neb.; brothers Vernon Leibrandt (Yoshiko) of McCook, Neb., Gerald Leibrandt of Omaha, Neb.; four sisters, Pyllis Zachary (Fred) of Guthrie, Okla., Charlene Chancellor (Dennis) of Lincoln, Neb., Patty Novak of Omaha, Neb., Shirley Dack,l of McCook, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will be on April 25 at Encounter Church, 601 S. Patton Road, Great Bend, Kan. at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Graveside service will follow at Pawnee Rock Cemetery, Pawnee Rock, Kan.
