WASHINGTON, D.C. (Targeted News Service) — This week, Kansas senators Roger Marshall and Jerry Moran each cosponsored a bill.


VALID Act

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, introduced the “Verifying That All Aliens Have Legitimate Identification Documents Act” or the “VALID Act” on March 22. The text of the bill was released on May 13.

S. 4051. A bill to prohibit transportation of any alien using certain methods of identification, and for other purposes; to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.

The bill is cosponsored by Sens. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., Mike Braun, R-Ind., Roger Marshall, R-Kan., Rick Scott, R-Fla., and John Thune, R-S.D.

SEC. 2. Permanent prohibition on operations for air carriers that provide, or facilitate the provision of, transportation of any alien using certain methods of identification.

SEC. 3. Prohibition of certain forms of identification for airline passengers.


EMIT LESS Act

Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., introduced the “Enteric Methane Innovation Tools for Lower Emissions and Sustainable Stock Act” on March 22. The text of the bill was released on May 13.

S. 4056. A bill to reduce enteric methane emissions, and for other purposes; to the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry.

The bill is cosponsored by Sens. Mike Crapo, R-Idaho, Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., and Jerry Moran, R-Kan.

This Act may be cited as the “EMIT LESS Act of 2024”.
