Two clubs host youth program

To the editor:

Two Great Bend service organizations gathered Tuesday noon at a party room at the Page Bistro. These are the Great Bend Pilot Club and the Noon Lions Club.

To celebrate the season, the youth of the Holy Family School are invited to present their special seasonal program.

Ashlee Meyerhoff, music teacher at the Holy Family School, led the youth in a unique Christmas Story.

Forty or more fifth- and sixth-grade children use a theme from the movie featuring “Indiana Jones.” Their take uses the Biblical theme of “Isaiah Jones,” who searches for the birth place of Jesus.

Two choirs, numerous supporting characters, and three principles tell the story in a highly active dance, song and dialogue.

From the perspective of this observer, the children are exceptionally well prepared. The result is a flawless high-energy performance.

Meyerhoff’s presence commands her students with an infectious enthusiasm. The students respond accordingly. Their behavior before, during, and after the event is exemplary.

She is supported by several other women.

Both clubs respond with gratitude for this unique and special gift.
