The 17th‑ranked Barton Community College men's basketball team opened Best Western Angus Inn/Cougar Booster Club Classic action Friday afternoon on a high note, pulling away for a 74–59 win over Northern Oklahoma College–Enid.
Barton (4-1) drops the Jets to 5-2.
Barton will close out Classic play Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. matchup against national vote-getter NOC–Tonkawa, as the Mavericks moved to 4–1 following their Friday evening 94-83 victory over Colby Community College.
The Cougars broke the game's lone tie at 2–2 with a 10–0 burst, eventually stretching the advantage to fifteen by halftime, 38–24.
As Barton rotated multiple players and combinations throughout the second half, the Jets methodically chipped away at the margin, outscoring the Cougars by seven over the first twelve minutes to draw within 54–47. Re-inserting the starting five, Barton responded immediately with eight straight points in a ninety-second stretch to rebuild a comfortable fifteen-point cushion and cruise through the final six minutes.
Four Cougars reached double figures, led by Aris Rodriguez's game-high 18 points while knocking down 5-of-7 from long range.
Noah Williams matched his season best output with his second straight 17 point performance on 3-of-5 three-point shooting, while Sebastian Muchitsch delivered one of the night's top all-around efforts with 16 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists for his second double-double of the season. Matching that versatility, Jayden Ramirez contributed 13 points, seven rebounds, and a game-high six assists.
Majok Chuol joined Muchitsch in double-digit rebounds, grabbing 10 as Barton produced a dominant plus-16 edge on the glass.
NOC–Enid connected on just 32.3% from the field and 10-of-34 from beyond the arc, placing three players in double figures. KeJuan Payne led with 13 points, with Dontrell Yearby and Oryne Stewart adding 12 apiece.
