PARSONS — The Barton Community College wrestling team split its pair of matches Tuesday, scoring a 26-20 victory over Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa following a 46-6 loss to No. 4 Labette.

The Cougars (2-4) compete at Saturday's Younes Hospitality Open at Kearney, Neb.

Six Cougars won a match on the evening as Barton went 6-4 against the Mavericks and 1-9 against the host Cardinals

Jamal Garrett (125) earned a forfeit win versus the Cardinals and a 19-3 decision over NOC-Tonkawa's Dar'Quavion Jackson.

Barton's Ethan Boles (141)  and Kayden Blake (157) earned wins for a 13-11 lead. Boles shut out Absalon Valencia 17-0 and Blake edged Max Rinehart 12-10.

Dropping a 6-4 decision at the 165-division, Derek Truman (174) scored a 17-5 decision over Tonkawa's Tyler Gettings.

Edgar Duarte Quiroz  (184) earned a pin over Xavier Hurtt for a 23-14 lead. Nathan Agudzi-Addo (285) secured the dual win with a 6-2 decision over Dennis Gonzalez after dropping a 9-6 decision to No. 5 ranked Gabe Kant of Labette.

In exhibition matches, Kaden Foster (174) split his pair of bouts regrouping with a 2:00-minute pin over Dennis Gonzalez after falling in 1:32 against Labette's Sam Duling
