KINGMAN – The Kingman Islanders continued their home-field advantage by beating the Great Bend Bat Cats 5-3 Thursday.  The Bat Cats (14-8, 3-2 Jayhawk) play at the Hutchinson Monarchs Saturday.

Kingman (7-11, 1-2 Jayhawk) scored two runs off Bat Cats reliever Carson Bougher (0-2) to snap a 3-3 tie.

Great Bend's Jesse Ponce reached base on an error and scored on a first-inning error.

The Bat Cats scored two third-inning runs for a 3-0 lead. Garrett Ninness singled in Christian Ammann and Kyle Walker singled in Ian George.

Kingman's Ben Waliczek scored on a third-inning error and Trent Reitmayer's bases-loaded walk forced home Gavin Djorovic.

Kyle Reece walked and scored on Djorovic's fourth-inning double for a 3-3 tie. 

Kingman's Nolan Freund doubled home Drayton Denning in the sixth inning. Freund doubled in Djurovic in the eighth inning.

Bat Cats Ponce and Cooper Smith walked in the ninth inning. Reliever Mason Munz retired Ammann and catcher Carter Helm threw out Smith on a steal attempt to end the ballgame.
