Barton Cougar Keandre KIndell scored 12 of the final 15 points to spark a 90-84 Jayhawk Conference basketball victory over CLoud Community College.
The balanced Cougars featured Kindell (16), Eltramon Smith, Jr. (15) and Fontaine Williams (14) in double figures.
Cloud's Elidjah Savane scored 29 points with 10 rebounds and five steals. Kuel Akot's 3-of-6 long distance shooting added 18 points. Keyon Garret-Miller scored 15 points.
Barton (17-4, 11-4 Jayhawk) drops Cloud to 10-11, 4-11 Jayhawk heading to league co-leader No. 5 Cowley College (18-3, 13-2 Jayhawk).
Kindell dished out four assists and drained four shots down the stretch. Williams scored 12 first-half points on 3-of-3 shooting with five assists. Smith, Jr. was part of a 43-point production off the Barton bench.
Additional key bench contributions were the nine points from Lucas N'Gombo, a career high eight points and four rebounds from Majok Chuol, James Parlow Jr's seven points, and Lyna Brooks delivered four rebounds, four points.
After a 13-point halftime lead was sliced to 10, Barton's starting-five went to the bench for 14 minutes. Led by the new career high 15 points from Smith along with contributions throughout the bench, the reserves hung tough but Cloud County chipped away at the deficit.
As the Cougars trailed for just the third time in the contest with 3:39 left, the re-inserted starting five lit fire producing a 6-0 run to regain the lead as Keandre Kindell's twelve points headed up a 15-7 Barton close out securing a fifth straight win in the series.
