Redlands, Okla. delivered the Barton Cougar women a 52-42 setback inthe Best Western Angus Inn/Cougar Booster Club Classic.

Barton (2-4) opens Jayhawk Conference play against No. 2 ranked Dodge City Wednesday before traveling to Cloud County Saturday.

Barton's Regina Donanu was a bright spot with a career-high 26 points and seven rebounds. Mary Akinde contributed eight points, a game-best nine rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Redlands' Karlee Harviston scored nine points and Myracle Washington eight

The Cougars led 7-1 but Redlands rallied for an 11-9 lead. Redlands scored 15 consecutive points until Donanu broke the run. Redlands led 27-11 at halftime.

Barton's 9-point second half run showcased seven points by Donanu and 2 by Akinde to close within 27–20. Redlands led 34-27 after three quarters.

Redlands' 7-point run led to a 45-31 lead and the Cougars were unable to rally.
