NICKERSON — Larned Indian Cara Herbert swept the 100-meter hurdles (15.67) and 300-meter hurdles (48.67) at Thursday's Central Kansas League track meet.
Larned's Kaylee Hagerman won the long jump (17-101/4).
Hoisington's Marley Bittel placed runner-up in the 100 (12.01) and 200 (25.89). Hoisington's other runner-up finishers were Addison Hanzlick, discus (103-6); javelin thrower Beck (114-8) and the 400-meter relay (50.61) with Reese Merlau, Kinley Wilkens, Hanzlick, and Bittel.
"Hoisington's track team had some outstanding performances," said Hoisington coach Dan Schmidt. "Tons of personal bests were set. Marley Bittel (12.01) broke Stacy Dame's 100-meter record (12.1) in 1994. Ironically, Stacy is one of the coaches who serves on Hoisington's coaching staff. Stacey has worked hard with helping the sprinters."
The Cardinals compete at Thursday's 3A Scott City track regional.
BOYS DIVISION — Hoisington's Layton Hoffman won the discus (157-11) and placed runner-up in the shot put (49-8).
Runner-up medal winners were Courtney Bryant, 100 (11.14); Brier Thompson, 200 (22.38) and pole vaulter Joseph Hekele (12-0).
