LINDSBORG — State-ranked Hoisington forced a 3-way tie for first place in the Central Kansas League with a hard fought 25-21, 18-25, 25-22 victory over Halstead, last year's 3A state volleyball champion.
Hoisington (23-3, 5-1 CKL) is tied with Halstead and Hesston for first place.
Cardinal standout Kelsi Maier sealed the victory with a trio of late-game winners in addition to a winner by Miya Nachtigal. The Cardinal rallied after trailing 14-8 in the third set. Other Cardinals contributing were all-stater Sofia Simic, Addi Hanzlickm Kinley Wilkens, Brynn Tarlton, Reese Vaughn, Rylee Vaughn and Brynlee Schremmer.
NESS CITY — Eight-time Central Prairie League champion and No. 1 ranked 2A Ellinwood (24-0) coasted past Ness City 25-7, 25-6 and La Crosse 25-13, 25-11. Contributing were Bennett Jacobs, Reagan Stickney, Kyndal Moore, Mette Maxwell, Brynn Widener, Alyvia Batchman and Regan Widener.
