ELLINWOOD 75, NESS CITY 61

ELLINWOOD – Ellinwood standout Britton Dutton wasn’t about to share the Central Prairie League basketball title with Ness City. Dutton scored a career high 43 points, one shy of the school record, to spark a league-clinching 75-61 victory over Ness City Tuesday.

Dutton scored 26 first-half points and added 17 after halftime. Tyler Stuhlsatz added 13 points for Ellinwood (16-4, 8-0 CPL), which captured the first Central Prairie league boys basketball title in school history.

Ness City (13-7, 6-2 CPL) was paced by Taylor Cable with 18 points and Jose Guzman with 12 points.

ELLINWOOD – Ellinwood’s Brittany Simpson was red hot with 25 points to spark a 66-56 Senior Night basketball victory over Ness City in Tuesday’s Central Prairie League game.

Bella Baker scored 13 points and Daphne Doll, Mya Maxwell and Kiley Bryant each added eight points.

“We had good energy from the start. We had lot of excitement from our bench and our fans,” said Ellinwood coach Andrew Cherry. “Simpson finished around and rim and when her outside shot falls, she gains her confidence. She had things rolling.”

GYPSUM — Trojan Eli Sawyers torched Ellinwood for 25 points as Southeast of Saline roared past Ellinwood 66-52 in Monday's non-league basketball game. The Trojans converted 24 of 38 field goals for 63 percent shooting.

Ellinwood's Britton Dutton was a one-man band with 35 points and 14 free throws.

GREENSBURG — Kiowa County's Connor Pore was rewarded for a wild reverse field goal attempt that had no chance with a foul and he converted the game-winning free throw for a 36-35 victory Tuesday over Pawnee Heights in a Southern Plains Iroquois basketball game. 

Tiger Braden Colglazier grabbed a career high 24 rebounds. Alec Carlson led the Tigers with 13 points with 11 rebounds.

FOWLER — Braden Colglazier tuned up for postseason play with 22 points and 12 rebounds to spark Pawnee Heights past Fowler 69-29 in Monday's Southern Plains Iroquois basketball game. The Tigers (10-8) led 56-9 at halftime. Alec Carlson was spectacular with a slam dunk, 16 points, five steals and five assists. Adam Hands contributed 20 points.
