MACKSVILLE 54, STAFFORD 53 — Macksville's Nolan Adams scored on a rebound basket for a 54-53 victory over county rival Stafford in Friday's non-league basketball showdown.

The Trojans led 53-46 after Jace Kreutzer hit a 3-pointer and Ricardo Cecchin scored on a rebound basket. Macksville scored the final seven points. Carlos Ibarra and Eddie Guerrero hit back-to-back 3-pointers after Kreutzer barely missed on back-to-back shots that danced off the rim.

Gavin Rose's steal ended Stafford's possession and Brandon Franklin stole the Trojans' final try to win.

STAFFORD GIRLS 43, MACKSVILLE 32 — The Stafford girls and coach Nicholas Minks continue to be the surprise team in central Kansas with a solid 43-32 non-league basketball victory over Macksville.

Stafford's red-hot Rylee Ferguson continued her stylish play with a 16-point night backed by Emily Delgadillo with 10 points. The Trojans (3-4) won their third game and featured six players in the scoring column.

Mary Keenan led Macksville (2-5) with 10 points and Grace Chadd added nine points.
