GARDEN CITY 3, GREAT BEND 2 — Garden City reliever Drew Strecker struck out Koehn Ribordy with the bases loaded to preserve a 3-2 Western Athletic Conference baseball victory over Great Bend Tuesday.
Strecker issued sixth-inning bases-loaded walks to Jaxon Wondra and Daxton Minton to force home Carter Dreiling and Jaden Prilling. Strecker struck out Ribordy to strand three baserunners. Strecker walked Dreiling and hit Jayden Prilling and Richter with pitches in the sixth inning.
Buffalo reliever Jakobe Rathbun earned a seventh-inning save by retiring Dreiling and Prilling to strand the tying and go-ahead runners on base in the seventh inning.
Garden City's Strecker doubled home Jonathan Almanza and Culden Plankenhorn in the first inning off Panther pitcher Ribordy. Cameron Barrett scored on Rathbun's fourth inning double.
