HOISINGTON 62, HAVEN 46 — Hoisington's Mason Martin passed the 1,000-point barrier with 24 points and nine rebounds for a 62-46 Central Kansas League basketball victory over Haven Tuesday. Kobe Crawford added 11 points.
Haven's Kolton Altvater, Zade Turner and Devin Boice defended Martin in a box-and-one defense with little success.
"That's a great achievement because you have to a 4-year player," said Hoisington coach Kyle Haxton, "We shared the ball really well. We beat a box-and-one defense and really hurt them. The guys executed really well."
The Cardinals worked a matchup zone defense. Haven's Brogan Wray scored 11 points.
"We got back to our matchup zone, our favorite defense," Haxton said. "We made it tough for them to get shots outside the arc."
