HOISINGTON 51, SMOKY VALLEY 38

LINDSBORG — Hoisington's Tony Moore and Mason Martin were a 2-man wrecking crew with 18 points apiece in a 51-38 Central Kansas League basketball victory over Smoky Valley Tuesday.

The wiry Moore weaved inside for his points while Martin cruised inside and outside in a solid effort. Powerhouse Caiden Hoffman muscled inside for 10 points. Jason Robinson and Rhen Galla each distributed several key assists.

Martin sealed the victory with seven consecutive points, the final two off Robinson's steal.

"We attacked when we could. Tony Moore and Caiden Hoffman put pressure on the defense, and we got wide open looks," said Hoisington coach Kyle Haxton. "It was a well-rounded effort. We played with discipline tonight."

The Cardinals (3-3) started practice two weeks late because of football, but finally hit their stride after a 20-day layoff.

Stylish Ki Blanchat hustled for 20 points against superb defense by Moore. The other Vikings made 6 of 30 field goals. Smoky Valley (1-5) made 12 of 12 free throws.
