ELLIS — Ellinwood Eagle Ryan Pohlman (18:45.04) finished runner-up and teammate Eleanor Joiner (22:17.29) placed third in the girls division at Thursday's Ellis cross country invitational.
Spearville's Evan Martinez (18:17.28) placed first. Pohlman placed 19th at 2A state last year.
Defending Ellis state champion Taryn Boydston (19:59.01) won the girls race over Joiner, who placed fourth at 2A state last year.
