Ellinwood's Bennett Jacobs fires up a shot against Hill City.

ELLINWOOD GIRLS 58, HILL CITY 27 -- Bennett Jacobs was on fire with six 3-pointers for 18 points and Julia Schlessiger dominated inside with 14 points to spark Ellinwood past Hill City 58-27 in Friday's 2A substate basketball game. Eagle Miette Maxwell added 10 points.

The Eagles (18-2) led 18-4 after one quarter and 32-14 at halftime. The Eagles converted 10 2-pointers and 20 3-pointers. Rylee Minium led Hill City with 15 points.

Ellinwood plays Stanton County (11-10) at home March 5 in the 2A semifinals.
