BELOIT — The No. 1-ranked Ellinwood Lady Eagles volleyball team rolled past No. 4 ranked 3A Beloit 25-21, 25-16, 25-12.
Ellinwood controlled the tempo from the start and never let up, winning in straight sets. The Eagles showed powerful attacks at the net, aggressive serving, and defensive grit as they controlled their opponents home court with a statement victory.
“I was pleased with our improvement tonight over mistakes we made Tuesday,” said Ellinwood coach Greg Maxwell. “Our girls played with energy, confidence, and focus from the first point to the last. Beloit has been a big challenge for us the last few years. Winning convincingly in three sets is a credit to how hard they’ve worked in the offseason and the growth and maturity that makes this team special.”
The junior varsity squad swept Beloit 25-20 and 25-18.
