STAFFORD — Ellinwood's returning state qualifier Eleanor Joiner (21;02.86) delivered a vintage first-place performance at Thursday's St. John cross country meet at the challenging Stafford Country Club course.

Central Plains Oiler Taylin Davis (21:23.78) placed third and Ellinwood's Jenna Borror (22;42.34) earned 10th medalist honors.

BOYS DIVISION — Stafford's returning state qualifier Joel Valadez (17:19.43) earned third-place medalist honors just a shade behind Haven's medalist Isaiah Doherty (17:13.73) at Thursday's St. John boys cross country meet.

Ellinwood's top finisher was 11th-place Ryan Pohlman (18:42.61). Larned's Lane Elam (19:00.05) placed 16th.
