ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood's baseball team swept past the Kinsley/Macksville Coyotes 5-3 and 12-6 in Thursday's twin bill.

The Eagles are 8-10 and Kinsley is 10-6.

ELLINWOOD 5, KINSLEY 3 (G1) — Ellinwood pitcher Trace Tudor struck out 10 batters in a hard-earned 98-pitch outing. Cohen Gunn threw two shutouts innings. The Eagles scored four earned runs on Kinsley's Kendall Grippin.

Cooper Gunn singled in Bryce Williams for a second-inning lead.  Campbell Coleman scored on a third-inning error after he singled in Drake Hosman. Williams scored on a double steal with Tudor.

Kinsley's Diego Esparza and Joshua Stuckey scored on Woodrow Lancaster's fifth inning single. Lancaster scored on Grippin's sacrifice fly for a 4-3 score.

Tudor scored a fifth-inning run on a Shae Hoskins groundout. 

ELLINWOOD 12, KINSLEY 6 (G2) — Ellinwood's Banks Jacobs led a 12-hit attack with four hits and four runs batted home. Hosman and Cooper Cohen each drove in two runs. Cohen Gunn and Tudor each drove in a run.

Hosman struck out eight batters and reliever Cohen Gunn worked two shutout innings. Kinsley's Trenton Anderson yielded six earned runs.

Kinsley's Grippin sparked the Coyotes' offense with a pair of hits and three RBI. Anthony Meza, Parker Burr and Devin Murrow each drove home one run.
