ELLINWOOD – The Great Bend Chiefs are officially in postseason form. The Chiefs rolled past AA Ellinwood 11-1 in Wednesday’s final tuneup for AAA Zone play Saturday.

Nahum Olivas led the Chiefs with three hits and three runs batted home.

Olivas scored the first run on Alex Schremmer’s third-inning sacrifice fly. Christian Zahnter singled home Joey Soupiset and Colin Hall to ignite a three-run fourth inning. Riley Smith scored on a passed ball.

Ellinwood’s Levi Swenson scored on a fourth-inning passed ball for a 4-1 score. Olivas singled home Soupiset for a 5-1 lead after six innings.

Carson Smith started a five-run seventh inning with a two-run single to score Schremmer and Townshend Kurth. Hall doubled home Carson Smith. Olivas doubled home Hall and Riley Smith for a 10-1 lead. Schremmer scored Calan Haberman for an 11-1 final.
