Longtime Great Bend assistant baseball coach Michael Stettinger has accepted the head baseball coaching position. He's spent 15 years with the Panthers, 11 as pitching coach and the past four serving as junior varsity/C team coach.

Stettinger has also served as summertime baseball coach for the Great Bend Braves and Great Bend Chiefs.

Great Bend graduate Stettinger competed for a pair of Great Bend 5A state baseball runners-up in 2003 and 2004. Stettinger was a 5A all-state catcher and 2-time All-Western Athletic Conference player. He led the Barton Cougars in home runs while playing two years.
