Great Bend Quicksilver softball splits four games

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Great Bend Quicksilver softball team finished with a 2-3 record in their weekend softball tournament.

ORIGINALS 6, QUICKSILVER 0 – Mikala Minton singled twice and Kya Behr, Alyssa McCauley, Baylie Kelly and Josie Blevins singled in a 6-0 setback to the Originals. Originals pitcher Kyleigh Crough stranded five baserunners and Behr grounded into a double play.

Jordyn Northrup, Addison Ford, Toni Spitaleri and Crough drove in runs.

Quicksilver competes in the USSSA State Tournament June 14-16.

QUICKSILVER 7, TOWANDA BLUE ARMY 2 – Quicksilver's Behr singled twice, doubled twice, scored two runs and drove in two runs.

Camdyn Post stole home, McCauley scored on an error and McCauley singled home Behr in a 3-run first inning. Katherine Mazouch stole home in the second inning.

Behr doubled home Post and stole home in the fifth inning. Behr doubled home Post in the seventh inning.

Blue Army's Pfeifer singled home Hadley Wells and Braeyn Landers after two fourth-inning errors.

QUICKSILVER 10, KC AMBUSH 5 – McCauley pitched three innings and drove in three runs with a bases-loaded fourth-inning triple to spark Quicksilver. Reliever Chayla Prendergast pitched two innings to earn a save. She drove in two runs with a bases-loaded fifth-inning double that was followed by Camdyn Post’s RBI single for a 10-5 final score.

Quicksilver led 3-0 when Mazouch, Kamryn Koelsch and Brynn Tarlton delivered first-inning RBIs. Behr tripled home Prendergast in the second inning for a 4-1 lead.

ROCKERS-MARTIN 6, QUICKSILVER 0 – Haley Martin struck out 13 Quicksilver batters and threw a 3-hit shutout. Quicksilver's Post singled and doubled and Behr singled.

Martin singled and doubled and drove in two runs. Belle Trim drove in two runs. 

CARROLLTON, MO. 18, QUICKSILVER 0 – Carrolltown, Mo. pounded out 18 runs on 15 hits to power past Quicksilver. Olivia Hemme homered, scored four runs and drove home three runs. Haylee Lent drove in three runs. Hailey Harry drove in two runs.

Carrolltown pitcher Harry struck out three batters. Quicksilver’s Camdyn Post, Behr and Brynn Tarlton singled.
