CHENEY -- Great Bend's Unified bowling team qualified for the state tournament. Great Bend finished runner-up with a team score of 870, 17 pins behind Garden City Thursday at Cheney Lanes.
Team members are Xander Orth, Keaton Wahlmeier, Kanyen Parr, Payton Edwards and Zoey Mayberry.
The Panthers compete at the KSHSAA Unified State Bowling Championship Nov. 19 at Topeka's West Ridge Lanes.
"We've had a great year," said Great Bend coach David Feldbauer. "We had three unified teams and had one first-place, one second and two third-place finishes. It's a great group of bowlers."
