HESSTON 52, HOISINGTON 47— Hesston's Drew Bartell scored two baskets and Ty Unruh converted three free throws to break a 45-45 tie for a hard-fought 52-47 Central Kansas League basketball victory over Hoisington.

Cardinal Mason Martin hit a tying 3-pointer off Kobe Crawford's rebound for a 45-45 tie. Bartell scored inside and converted a Cardinal turnover at half-court into a transition basket.

Martin led Hoisington with 16 points and Marcus Ingram added 11 points. Crawford had six steals. Hesston's Bartell (17) and Unruh (12) led the No. 2 ranked 3A Swathers (9-1, 1-0 CKL).

"It was a great post-season type of atmosphere," said Hoisington coach Kyle Haxton. "We're right there against the No. 2 ranked team in a hostile environment. We competed at the defensive end. We didn't score key baskets at the right time."
