HOISINGTON — Hoisington's Trinity Graves (125) and Tristin Compton (135) earned first place medals at the Cardinal Wrestling Classic Friday. The Cardinal girls scored 1551/2 points to outdistance Minneapolis (115) for the team title.
Graves (29-3) defeated St. Francis' Cheyenne LaBarge, 10-4 and Compton downed Wichita County's Angela Barreras, 13-0 in championship matches.
Cardinals Jayda Bailey (110), Annabelle Gonzalez (115), Marly Brewer (140) and Amerie Hinz (235) earned runner-up silver medals.
In championship matches, Ellsworth's Kiya Schultz pinned Bailey (4:43); Minneapolis Lion Lennah Monts pinned Gonzalez (0:49); Haven's Haydan Williams edged Brewer 7-6; and Onaga's No. 1 ranked Emmarsyn Fordham pinned Hinz (1:56).
