HOISINGTON 72, SW HEIGHTS 0 — Red-hot Hoisington quarterback Mason Martin completed a career best five touchdown passes as the Cardinals led 50-0 at halftime lead to coast past Southwestern Heights 72-0 in Friday's 2A District 8 football game.
The Mason/Mason connection started the rout when Carson Mason caught an opening 51-yard scoring strike from Mason Martin. Carson Mason also caught a 32-yard scoring strike. Kaidenn Chambers scored on 29- and 36-yard passes from Martin. C.J. Bryant converted a 36-yard touchdown reception.
Taylen Morales and Brody Pfannenstiel scored rushing touchdowns. Backup Dexter Klug closed the second half scoring with 22- and 29-yard touchdowns. Leighton Britt scored a defensive touchdown with a fumble recovery in the Southwestern Heights end zone.
Chambers and Xavier Mooney intercepted passes. Pfannenstiel recovered a fumble. The Cardinals held the Mustangs to 40 yards rushing and 10 yards passing and created four takeaways.
The Cardinals (3-0) travel to perennial 3A powerhouse Cheney (3-1) Oct. 3.

CENTRAL PLAINS 54, SOLOMON 6 — Red-hot Central Plains quarterback Brodie Crites completed five touchdown passes as the Oilers downed Solomon 54-6 in Friday's 8-Man 1, District 3 football opener. The Oilers (3-1, 1-0 District). Crites completed nine passes for 247 yards.
Top receiver Rylan Siemsen caught 39- and 40-yard scoring passes. Crites connected with Richard Stroud (62 yards), Broc Klima (33 yards) and Peyton Dody (22 yards) in the Oilers' big-play offense. Stroud and Klima converted running touchdowns. The Oilers rushed for 85 yards.

STERLING 43 ELLINWOOD 8 — Ellinwood halfback Kale Williams prevented a shutout on a 7-yard touchdown dash as Sterling spoiled the Eagles' Homecoming 43-8 in 1A District 7 football. Ellinwood's turnovers created an easy Sterling victory.
Sterling standout Zane Farney was a 1-man wrecking crew with three touchdowns, two fumble recoveries, and interception and a forced fumble. Farney rushed for 125 yards and scored on 1, 32 and 48-yard runs. Wyatt Newberry gained 83 yards and scored on 2- and 20-yard runs. Jace Darnauer added an 8-yard touchdown run.
The Black Bears (4-0, 1-0 District) rushed for 269 first-half yards while limiting the Eagles (3-1, 0-1 District) to 17 yards.

STAFFORD 56, MACKSVILLE 6 — Stafford Trojan quarterback Dylan Brozek rushed for three touchdowns and the Trojans intercepted five passes and recovered a fumble for a 56-6 victory over Macksville in 8-Man 2, District 6.
Brozek scored on 4, 20 and 53-yard runs. James Engelbrecht and Landon Marks each intercepted two passes and Tuff Pope intercepted one pass. Marks and Pope scored on interception returns. Jace Kreutzer ended the game with a 32-yard reception from Brozek.
Macksville's Sam Torres caught a 40-yard touchdown pass to prevent a shutout.

HODGEMAN COUNTY 52, ST. JOHN 6 — St. John quarterback Braxton Alpers connected with Jericho Mawhirter for a touchdown in a 52-6 setback to Hodgeman County's to open 8-Man 2, District 6 football.
St. John (1-3, 0-1 District) trailed 14-6 midway through the second quarter, but the Longhorns (4-0, 1-0) scored tacked on two second quarter touchdowns and scored on the final play of the half and the final play of the third quarter.
Ian Reese rushed for 95 yards, scored three rushing touchdowns and passed for a touchdown. Garrett Nuss and Ethan Salmans scored rushing touchdowns. Tyson Younger grabbed a touchdown reception. Ian Reese and Gavin Reese each completed a touchdown pass.
