GARDEN PLAIN (8-2) at HOISINGTON (9-0) — No. 3 state-ranked Hoisington will play Garden Plain (8-2) in Friday's 2A state football quarterfinal showdown.
Hoisington tailback Taylen Morales continued his success with 174 yards rushing and three touchdowns in a 46-6 victory over Hillsboro. Brody Pfannenstiel scored on a 35-yard pass reception and a 61-yard run.
Garden Plain's Stephen Kerschen has rushed for 1,010 yards and 17 touchdowns. Skyler Thimesch has gained 413 yards rushing. The Owls average 214 yards rushing and 54 yards passing.

HOISINGTON 46, HILLSBORO 6 —— Hoisington tailback Taylen Morales stayed red hot with three touchdowns as the Cardinals roared past Hillsboro 46-6 in a second round 2A football playoff game.
Morales scored on runs of 4, 6 and 8 yards. Versatile Brody Pfannenstiel opened the second half with a 61-yard touchdown run and added a 35-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Mason Martin. C.J. Bryant converted a 10-yard touchdown. The Cardinals led 46-0 after three quarters, which triggered a running clock.
The Cardinals rushed for 403 yards keyed by the offensive line of Corbyn Holinde, Leyton Mooney, Layton Hoffman, Colin Mater and Karson Kinman.
"It's nice to see the guys working together and playing good football," said Hoisington coach Zach Baird. "We've got 11 guys playing football at a high level."
The Cardinals (9-0) play Garden Plain (8-2) at home in Friday's 2A quarterfinal game.
