Kinsley baseball sweeps

KINSLEY — The Kinsley/Macksville baseball team clinched the third seed in the Pratt Skyline regional with a 10-0 and 15-5 sweep over Minneola. Kinsley (14-6) will play Medicine Lodge (6-10) in the first round of 2-1A baseball regionals next week.

KINSLEY 10, MINNEOLA 0 (G1) — Kinsley pitcher Kendall Grippin (6-1, 0.93 ERA) threw a 3-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts in a dominating 78-pitch outing. Grippin has yielded four earned runs in 30 innings.

Joshua Stuckey, Grippin and Trenton Anderson each delivered a pair of RBI. 

Anderson's single scored Woodrow Lancaster and Grippin in a 4-run first frame. Anderson scored on a passed ball and Anthony Meza scored on an error. Grippin's second-inning double scored Stuckey.

Stuckey's single scored Devin Murrow and S Fernandez. Stuckey scored on Grippin's single. Anderson scored on a wild pitch and Murrow scored on Joey Preito's single for a run-rule win. 

KINSLEY 10, MINNEOLA 0 (G2) — Kinsley's Diego Esparza and Grippin each drove home a trio of runs in a run-rule victory.

Lancaster and Prieito each drove in one run.
