LARNED — Larned reliever Carson Shaver threw 32/3 shutout innings for a 7-3 victory to help the Indians split a baseball twin bill against Hesston Friday. Hesston (7-2, 7-1 CKL) won the nightcap 12-2.

LARNED 7, HESSTON 3 (G1) — Larned led 5-0. Shaver scored on a Reese Morgan single and Mason Miller singled in Conner Speier for a 2-0 lead. Shaver scored on Tristan Regan's second-inning single after driving home Easton Fox and Anthony Gonzalez.

Hesston's Blayne Wilson scored on Andrew Huxman's fly ball. Keagan Shelite scored on Levi Flaming's single and Jacob Burkholder scored on Wilson's single for a 5-3 score. 

Larned's Shaver scored on an error and Miller singled home Deacon Martin for a 7-3 victory.

HESSTON 12, LARNED 2 (G2) — Hesston broke the game open with an 8-run fourth inning for a 12-2 run-rule victory. Larned yielded six walks and committed six errors that contributed to 11 unearned runs.

Hesston's Flaming homered and drove home five runs. Brody Curran drove in three runs. Hesston delivered four extra-base hits.

Larned's Shaver and Hunter Hobbs scored runs. Shaver, Martin and Hobbs each singled.

Larned (2-6, 1-3 CKL) plays Smoky Valley (1-6, 1-6 CKL) Tuesday.
