LARNED — Larned's Legion baseball team gained a split with the Quinter Gove County Yardgoats.

LARNED 5, GOVE COUNTY 4 (G1) — Larned leftfielder Carson Shaver preserved a 5-4 victory by throwing out Trace Kinderknecht at home to end the ballgame.

Larned led 3-0 without a base hit as Gove County pitcher John Lopeman walked four batters. Reese Morgan, Anthony Martinez and Camden Bird scored on bases-loaded walks. 

Gove County's Aiden Ashenbrenner delivered an RBI single and Baylor Born and Graeden Deines scored on errors for a 3-3 tie.

Larned's Deacon Martin scored on a double steal and Tristan Regan scored on a Graden Deines error for a 5-3 lead. Kinderknecht's triple scored Keaton Harvey, but was tagged out by catcher Ian Gililland.

GOVE COUNTY 3, LARNED 1 (G2) — Larned pitcher Deacon Martin struck out 11 batters while yielding one earned run.

Gove County's Born scored on a bases-loaded first-inning walk. Caed Bridges singled home Spencer Cramer after a baserunner reached on a dropped third strike for a 2-0 lead. Maddux Reese scored on a sixth-inning steal. Pitchers Spencer Cramer and Austin Gilbert held Larned to three hits.

Larned's Tristan Regan scored on a Anthony Gonzales sixth-inning single.
