ELLINWOOD — The Minneapolis Lions rolled up 29 runs in two games to sweep Ellinwood's softball team 13-2 and 16-6 after a 5-game winning streak. Pitcher Bennett Jacobs (12-12) was tagged with both losses.
MINNEAPOLIS 13, EAGLES 2 (G1) — Ellinwood's Kennedy Behnke drove home a run and Jacobs scored two runs.
Miley McClure drove home four runs and Baylee Randall-Hurt drove in three runs for the Lions (16-4).
MINNEAPOLIS 16, EAGLES 6 (G2) — Ellinwood's Kennedy Behnke, Shyria Quintana, Kyndal Moore and Ali Gonzalez each drove in one run.
The Lions pounded out 12 extra-base hits, keyed by three doubles by Sierra Cossaart and a pair of doubles by Randall-Hurt and Braedee Weatherman. McClure homered and drove home four runs.
