VICTORIA 77, MACKSVILLE 69 — Victoria roared to a 48-30 halftime lead and held off Macksville 77-69 in a wild battle for first place in the Central Prairie League basketball game. Victoria (9-6, 5-1 CPL) is tied with St. John (12-5, 5-1) for first place.
Macksville's high-scoring Diego Esparza scored 30 points with six steals and Hector Gomez contributed 17 points, three steals and three assists. Carlos Ibarra had four steals. The Mustangs outscored the Knights 39-29 after halftime.
