MACKSVILLE 57, KIOWA COUNTY 46 — Macksville's red-hot Heidy Ortiz converted five 3-pointers and scored 19 points to spark the Mustangs past Kiowa County 57-46 in Monday's 1A basketball regional.
Laney Butler and Reyes each added 10 points. The Mustangs responded each time the Mavericks would close within striking distance. Macksville (10-11) plays South Gray (18-2) in the semifinals.
Kiowa County's Norma Espericueta scored 15 points with a trio of 3-pointers. Sayre Hassiepen and Ava Little added eight points.

OTIS-BISON GIRLS 61, WESKAN 58 — Central Prairie League member Otis-Bison surprised Weskan 61-58 in Monday's 1A girls basketball regional. The Cougars (6-14) play Wallace County (15-4) in the 1A semifinals.
Cougar Allie Smith scored a career high 20 points and Destiny Mitchell added 16 points. The Cougars held off Weskan's fourth-quarter rally.
Weskan's Cris Valle scored 25 points and Madelynn Wright scored 23 points as they combined to convert nine 3-pointers.

PAWNEE HEIGHTS GIRLS 42, WESTERN PLAINS 33 — Abby Hands scored 19 points as the Pawnee Heights girls (6-15) stayed hot with a 42-33 victory over Ransom Western Plains in Monday's 1A basketball regional. The Tigers outscored Western Plains 15-9 in the fourth quarter.
Tigers' Addyson Pelton (9), Faith Hammeke (7) and Lili Cissell (7) contributed. Hammeke converted a 4-point play in the fourth quarter. The Tigers made four 3-pointers.
Western Plains' Madelyn Kraus scored 21 points with eight field goals and two steals. Chloe Briand contributed nine rebounds and four assists. Jaelyn Spangler delivered four assists with two steals.
The Tigers (6-15) play Cheylin (14-5) in the Match 1 substate semifinals.

MOSCOW GIRLS 45, STAFFORD 30 — Underdog Stafford kept things interesting with a shocking 13-2 scoring run that sliced Moscow's lead to 29-25. But Moscow restored order with a game-ending 16-5 burst for a hard-fought 45-30 1A regional basketball victory.
Stafford's Emily Delgadillo and Abi Kirkpatrick each scored eight points. The Trojans rallied with aggressive full-court defense, but committed 30 turnovers against solid Moscow defense.
Moscow (11-9) was led by Vareli Rojo and Kenia Gonzalez with nine points apiece. Moscow converted five 3-pointers.
