VICTORIA 37, OTIS-BISON 36 — Victoria's Wyatt Griffin converted the game-winning free throw off a rebound on a foul whistled as time expired for a 37-36 Central Prairie League basketball victory over Otis-Bison.
Cougar Logan Maier scored back-to-back baskets for a 36-36 tie after Victoria 's Nick Sander and Wesley Sander scored to start the fourth quarter. The Cougars committed a turnover on their final offensive possession.
"We defended at a high level. It's really good for our guys to play in a high-competitive game," said Otis-Bison coach Curtis Little. "We have to give our guys easier options to score. We'll learn from these situations and be better. We talk about controlling things we can control so it doesn't come down to something random at the end."
Otis-Bison's Jake Hoopingarner scored eight points and Kelson Juno added seven points. Wesley Sander led Victoria with 17 points.
