WICHITA — Great Bend's Sydney Stein (18:50.98) placed runner-up and Decorah Schroeter (18:57.0) earned third medalist honors at Saturday's Rush at Thrush Park cross country invitational. 

Wichita Kapaun Mt. Carmel's Ava Claasen (17:46) placed first. Wichita Carroll (42) and Wichita Kapaun-Mt. Carmel (47) was followed by third-place Great Bend (78).

Also counting for Great Bend were 12th-place Bella Long (19:48.8), 40th-place Samantha Negaard (22:38.38) and 41st-place Makenzie Gwin (22:43.46).

Great Bend's Brogan Lashley (17:02.73) placed 12th to lead the Panther boys.  Other runners who counted in the team score were 32nd-place Tavon Stroup (17:44.34), 49th-place Isaac Aldana (18:20.17), 50th-place Parker Coleman (18:20.77) and 54th-place Noah Kaiser (18:26.75). 

Kapaun’s Dan Enriquez (15:34.07) earned medalist honors. Wichita Carroll's boys (42) won the boys division. Great Bend (177) placed eighth.
